What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy works with the subconscious mind to break down problems and stop them from reoccurring. It involves hypnosis which is a narrowed focusing of attention otherwise known as a trance state. Trance states occur in the subconscious part of the brain where the emotional and behavioural patterns of a problem are held. Anxiety, depression and habits are examples of negative trance states.
How can hypnotherapy help me?
When you are ready to change, hypnotherapy will allow you to let go of problems which are controlling you or preventing you from living a fulfilling life. Therapy is based on the Human Givens approach which is a scientifically based approach to mental health problems. This encompasses all of our physical and emotional needs of which there are nine. We will look at meeting all of those needs.
What happens in a session and what does it cost?
I gather information around the problem, look at your basic needs and together we set specific goals as to what you want from therapy and how to achieve it. The second part of the session involves breaking down the problem and teaching you skills to enhance your life and keep you emotionally well.
Typically between 1 and 4 sessions are required. First sessions last approximately 1.5 - 2hrs and cost £80, thereafter sessions are approximately 1hr at a cost of £60. Contact me to find out more.
What is solution focused therapy?
This involves working towards solutions to your problem through the setting of goals and the learning of skills.
What is the Rewind Technique?
The Rewind Technique is a highly effective technique which deconditions the mind so you can experience previously traumatic or stressful situations in a calm, relaxed and natural way. It is the best way to deal with a traumatic experience as it is carried out under hypnosis.
What is EMDR?
Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprogramming (EMDR) is a technique used to decondition a trauma. It involves using your eyes to follow the therapists hands in various quick movements. The emotions attached to the traumatic event are released leaving the mind calm and relaxed.
